Holding Hands: Your support network

At Holding Hands, we believe every family deserves understanding and guidance during challenging times.

Beyond the ordinary

At Holding Hands, we provide a supportive platform for anyone affected by or involved in care proceedings. We bring people together to share experiences, exchange good practice, and help each other feel less alone during what can be an incredibly challenging time.

How we support your family

We offer a safe, non-judgemental space where families can access emotional and practical support during care proceedings. Our aim is to empower individuals, helping them build confidence as they navigate this challenging time.

We provide practical guidance to help families better understand the process, prepare for meetings, and feel more confident in their situation.

We also connect families with helpful resources and encourage peer support, enabling them to learn from others who have faced similar challenges. Above all, we want families to feel supported both emotionally and practically—and to know they are not alone

Support for every family member

This support page is for all family members who may be affected, including parents, grandparents, and extended relatives. We recognise that many different people play an important role in a child’s life, and anyone seeking understanding, guidance, or support is welcome.

Our aim is to support anyone within the family network who may be navigating these challenges and looking for reassurance, information, or a sense of connection.

Our unique approach to support

What makes Holding Hands unique is our deeply personal and compassionate approach. We offer a safe, non-judgmental space where families are truly listened to and understood, not just guided.

Our support is shaped by real-life experiences, allowing us to connect with families on a genuine level. We focus on both emotional support and practical guidance, helping families feel more confident while also feeling cared for. Unlike many services, we prioritise building a sense of community—bringing people together so they can share, support one another, and realise they are not alone in what they are going through.

"Holding Hands was a lifeline for our family, offering both the emotional comfort we desperately needed and practical advice that made all the difference."
